Description |
We were lucky to have another comet
appear in the sky this year. It was visible without a
telescope (naked eye or binoculars) for a short period
this spring. The comet broke into pieces as it went
around the sun and this is the larger of the pieces. |
Processing |
The picture is a combination of 7 shots
of about 30 seconds each at ISO 1600 setting. Taken from our driveway, unguided,
through the TV 85 with the Tele Vue 0.80x field
flattener and an IDAS light pollution filter. Pictures
aligned, combined and contrast enhanced in ImagesPlus.
The comet was moving so fast that special processing had
to be used to prevent the stars from leaving trails. |
