Double Cluster

Camera

Canon 20Da

Date 3 October 2005
Description The double cluster, in Perseus, is visible to the naked eye as a couple of blurry areas in line with Cassiopeia. These clusters of stars are about 7000 light years away but are still part of the Milky Way.
Processing  This is a single 2 1/2 minute shot taken in the dark Adirondack skies. Unfortunately, it was foggy that night so the sky was not very transparent. The picture was taken through the Tele Vue 85, unguided, mounted on the Losmandy G11 mount. The photo was contrast enhanced in ImagesPlus.
