Description |
Milky Way Widefield. This picture shows
the center of our galaxy (the Milky Way) and the
surrounding area. Dark areas are caused by dust blocking
the light from the galactic center. You can see the
"teapot" near the bottom of this picture. Several
Messier objects (M7 and M6 for example) are easy to
spot. |
Processing |
The picture was taken with the Canon
20Da piggy backed on top of the G11 mount, polar aligned
with the alignment scope, and using a 17-40mm F4.0L lens
set at 17mm. It was a cloudy night so 8 pictures of 3
minutes each were combined in Images Plus. |
