One nice thing about central NY, wildlife is everywhere.
We decided to take a trip out to the Montezuma National
Wildlife Refuge near Seneca Falls, NY. After checking in at
the visitor center we learned that the park had at least 3
Bald Eagle nests. One was visible from the center but quite
a distance across the wetlands. Another was in a remote
section of the park and had 3 eagles tending the nest (yup,
2 males and a female). This nest was just down the road and
across a waterway. We were lucky to see the female with her
2 chicks. Just after this picture was taken, she flew away
and came back with food for the whole family. What an
incredible sight!
