Description |
Also called the "Wild Duck Cluster" it
comprises a loose collection of stars bound
gravitationally. Personally, I don't see the ducks, but
supposedly the name came from the brighter stars forming
a pattern of ducks in flight. M11 is an "Open Cluster"
(similar to a "Globular Cluster" but with fewer stars)
of about 2900 stars. |
