Andromeda Galaxy (M31)

Camera

Canon 20Da

Date 3 October 2005
Description Taken from a dark sky site in the Adirondacks, unguided, through the TV 85 with the Tele Vue 0.80x field flattener.
Processing Andromeda Galaxy and satellite galaxies (M32 and M110). Four images exposed for 4.5 minutes each (ISO 1600) were combined in ImagesPlus to form this picture. What a beautiful galaxy.  Too bad it will collide with the Milky Way in about a billion years.  I am quite pleased with this image as it shows some of the areas of star formation around the edges.
